After attending school at various places in the former GDR, but finally achieving the obligatory Abitur certificate, he enrolled for geology at Jena University in 1951. Projet d’organisation d’un colloque sur la géologie des bassins maghrébins. Le Maghreb, en général, se singularise par une diversité géographique, une variété importante et une grande qualité des affleurements géologiques. Ce grand territoire est constitué à prés de 75% de sa surface de terrains sédimentaires. Les terrains sédimentaires affleurant couvrent toutes les périodes géologiques.
