Professor Olugbenga Okunlola holds a PhD degree in Economic Geology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he is currently a full Professor of Geology. His 35 years experience straddles the Geological surveys where he rose through the ranks upon graduation, from 1982 to the position of Chief Mining geologist, before joining the academia in 2002. He has served as Special Adviser (Mineral Assessment) to the Director General of the Nigerian Geological Surveys Agency (NGSA) from 2006 to 2013. He is currently the President of the Geological Society of Africa, Immediate Past President of The Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, President of GIRAF and Vice President for Africa, AGID.
